TOM HARTLEY JNR IS AWARDED QUEEN’S AWARD FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE
TOM HARTLEY JNR IS AWARDED QUEEN’S AWARD FOR
INTERNATIONAL TRADE
INTERNATIONAL TRADE
- Tom Hartley Jnr Ltd is proud to announce that it has been awarded a coveted Queen’s Award for International Trade
- The award recognises the company’s outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales since it was established in May 2014
- In only three years, the company has grown its international trade by 130%, achieving £33.3 million in turnover attributable to overseas business
Tom Hartley Jnr, one of the most highly regarded and best-known names in the performance and classic car market, has won the highly prestigious Queen’s Award for International Trade.
Remarkably, Tom has been involved in the high-end car business since he was 11 years old, working directly in the family business, of which he became a full partner by the time he was 16 years old. Tom’s decision to leave the family firm to launch his own venture in 2014 may have surprised many at the time; however, for those who knew Tom personally, the departure was considered an inevitable one—simply due to the fact that he had his own vision that could only be fully pursued independently. Tom Hartley Jnr Ltd was established in 2014 with the aim of being the place to buy or sell a significant performance or classic car. The company is known for operating at the highest end of the market and supplying only the best cars to numerous clients around the world. From a private showroom in Derbyshire, Tom Hartley Jnr Ltd has established a true global reach, with overseas markets extending from the USA to New Zealand. Overseas sales have grown from £14.5m to £33.3m, representing an astonishing overall growth of 130%.
The company successfully built its business through a combination of Tom’s personal reputation and contacts and a solid business strategy to progressively enter new markets. A true British success story, the company has carved out a unique niche in which its domestic reputation has allowed it to expand into new markets and, as a result, it has achieved phenomenal accomplishments.
Tom Hartley Jnr says of the award: “It is an honour to receive the Queen’s Award and I accept it with genuine pride. Although I have been in this business for 23 years, my own business was only established under four years ago. To have achieved the sort of growth we have accomplished in that time is a testament to the quality of our customer service and the incredible quality of the vehicles we trade in. We occupy a unique place in the market in terms of our approach to both domestic and international trade, and through the sheer quality of what we offer our clients, we have enjoyed amazing success.”
